Welcome to the Town of Exeter’s GIS/Maps website! This website enables town residents, town personnel and the general public to view maps and data on property assessments, topography, soil types, wetlands, zoning, land use, etc. through an Interactive Mapping application.  Abutters lists can now be produced on-line. 

Town of Exeter GIS

In 2012, the Town of Exeter received a Planning Challenge Grant from the RI Division of Planning’s Statewide Planning Program.  The $50,000 grant enabled the Town to develop a town-wide digital parcel base linked to the tax assessor’s database, develop a web-based mapping application, develop several town-specific data layers (e.g., zoning, future land use, canvassing districts) and engage a project manager to assist the town.  The Town was required to provide an in-kind match that consisted of town personnel, research and additional resources.

  • Several years of imagery from the State of RI are now available on the GIS/Maps. The years available are 1939, 1951 - 1952, 1962, 1972, 1981, 1988, 1997, 2003-2004, and 2008.
  • To access the different themes available for viewing:
    • Select the "Map Themes" menu on the right side of your screen.​
    • Use the drop down menu to access the different choices.
