Garden Club

Pollinator plants in bloom

The Library Garden Club brings together plant lovers to care for the library’s native plant gardens and share knowledge, experience, and of course! plants and seeds. Whether you're an expert or just starting out, you're welcome to join us! Sign up here, or email us with any questions.

Focus on Native Plants

Our club is passionate about growing native plants and expanding their presence at the library. We prioritize locally indigenous species and partner with others to highlight the ease and benefits of gardening with natives.

Garden Maintenance

Club members play a key role in maintaining the library’s gardens using ecological gardening practices. Activities include seasonal cleanup, weeding to control invasives, planting and dividing native species, and collecting seeds. We focus on low-impact, habitat-friendly methods, such as leaving leaf litter for overwintering insects, avoiding pesticides, and choosing plants that support pollinators and birds. Whether tending the gardens or sharing knowledge, members help to create a thriving, ecologically rich space for both wildlife and the enjoyment of the community.

Seed Library

Club members help sustain the Exeter Seed Library by collecting, cleaning, and packaging a variety of seeds. They also restock the collection and assist with seed-related programs. By participating, members promote biodiversity and food security through free access to seeds for all residents.
